Fujifilm Launches ZUH12000 4K Projector With Swappable Lenses

Following the release of its FP-ZUH6000 4K ultra-short-throw projector in 2025, Fujifilm has expanded its Z series with the latest ZUH12000 model. It is a 4K projector that delivers massive brightness of 12,000 lumens, but the key feature is the interchangeable lens functionality. The company plans to release three optional lenses, including the industry’s only ultra-short-throw lens with a folded-type rotatable mechanism (FP-ZL034), which will help you extend its functionality to meet different needs.

The swappable lenses are what help you make the most out of its functionality. The ultra‑short‑throw lens has a throw ratio of 0.34-0.41, the short‑throw lens FP‑ZL050 has a throw ratio of 0.5-0.65, and the standard lens FP‑ZL125 has a throw ratio of 1.25-2.0. The ultra‑short‑throw lens features the industry’s only folded‑type rotatable mechanism and offers one of the widest lens‑shift ranges in its class. It allows for 60% vertical and 30% horizontal lens shift, which means you can shift the projected image without changing the position of the projector or the orientation of the lens. 

The projector incorporates the latest 0.8‑inch HEP DMD DLP chip to deliver high‑definition 4K screen resolution with high brightness, making it ideal for big events like exhibitions and presentations in large spaces. The high-end optical system comprises more than 20 lens elements, two mirrors, and a large-diameter aspherical lens that “suppresses distortion and aberration to deliver high-definition images with great uniformity across the entire screen”. The maker adds that it even helps maintain image quality under a variety of projection conditions. The projector is capable of projecting images up to 400 inches from a distance of just 9.7 feet/297 cm, making it suitable for large events.

The projector also utilizes the newly developed three-group zoom mechanism that achieves 1.2× optical zoom. It comes with five Film Simulation modes that incorporate Fujifilm’s renowned color reproduction technology developed through photographic film. You can choose between PROVIA, Velvia, ETERNA, CLASSIC CHROME, and CLASSIC Neg to meet a wide range of applications.

As noted by New Atlas, the projector does not include a dedicated streaming entertainment platform like Google TV, so users will have to use the onboard HDMI 2.0 ports or SDI to play content. There is also an Ethernet LAN port for network connection and a powered USB Type-A port for maintenance.

Measuring 21 inches wide, 165.6 inches deep, and 7.4 inches high, along with 39 pounds/18.1 kg of weight, the Fujifilm FP-ZUH12000 is indeed a large-venue projector, taking it to the expensive segment. We personally like the interchangeable lenses and would want other brands to come up with similar solutions. There are no details about the US pricing yet, but the projector unit and the ultra-short throw lens FP-ZL034 are slated to be available from the second quarter of 2026.
