Thompson Street-backed Allyant expands with acquisition of Braille Works

Thompson Street Capital Partners‘ portfolio company Allyant has acquired Braille Works, a provider of accessible alternative format communications including braille, large print, audio and accessible PDFs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Braille Works was founded in 1994 by Joyce and Lou Fioritto and has spent more than three decades helping organizations make information accessible for people who are blind or have low vision, serving customers across healthcare, financial services, government, education and the private sector.

The acquisition builds on Allyant’s existing alternative format business, more than doubling its production footprint and capacity and expanding its presence into Florida. The combined platform is intended to help Allyant serve highly regulated industries as they navigate an increasingly complex accessibility regulatory landscape.

Together, Braille Works and Allyant will “deliver new value to our customers, new opportunities for our employees, and a better experience for the individuals and communities that benefit from best-in-class accessible communications,” said Craig Albrecht, managing director at Thompson Street Capital Partners.

Sidley Austin served as legal counsel to Thompson Street Capital Partners. Hyde Park Capital and Polsinelli served as financial and legal advisors to Braille Works.

Thompson Street Capital Partners, founded in 2000 and based in St. Louis, invests in founder-owned middle-market businesses across life sciences and healthcare, software and technology, and business and consumer services and products. The firm has acquired more than 250 companies and had more than $4.5 billion of assets under management as of June 30, 2026.
