Strategic Value Partners has named Matt Gibson as president, effective February 2027. Gibson joins SVP after more than 25 years at Goldman Sachs, where he spent 16 years as a partner holding senior leadership roles across investment banking and asset management, most recently leading the Global Client Business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
As president, Gibson will oversee the firm’s non-investment activities, including client relations and firmwide infrastructure, while helping drive longer-term strategic initiatives. He will also be involved in deal sourcing in sectors such as power and infrastructure, where he has domain expertise, and will report to SVP founder and chief investment officer Victor Khosla.
