Sequoia Financial Acquires $1.36B All Star Financial
Sequoia Financial Group, an Akron, Ohio-headquartered registered investment advisor with $34.9 billion in assets under management, has acquired All Star Financial, a Minneapolis-St. Paul-based wealth management firm with about $1.36 billion in total assets under management and advisement.
This is Sequoia’s first RIA acquisition of 2026. In June, the firm acquired A CPA Inc., an accounting, tax and advisory firm in the Dublin, Ohio area.
All Star Financial brings 14 team members over to Sequoia, including in-house tax professionals, who will become part of Sequoia Tax Services.
“All Star Financial has built a disciplined, client-centered business with a strong foundation in tax strategy,” said Tom Haught, chairman and CEO of Sequoia Financial, in a statement. “Their approach and culture make them an excellent fit as we continue to increase our presence in the Upper Midwest.”
The deal also builds on Sequoia’s presence in the Twin Cities. The firm added Carlson Capital Management, another Twin Cities RIA with more than $3.8 billion in assets, in April 2025.
All Star was founded in 1987 by CEO Robert J. Klefsaas under the name Robert J. Klefsaas Investment Advisors. The firm was rebranded to All Star Financial in 1992.
The deal brings Sequoia’s total footprint to about 11,500 client households across 43 offices in more than 20 states.
