Post Oak Energy Capital-backed Ichthys Energy Partners has completed the sale of a portion of its Permian Basin assets to multiple buyers, for undisclosed terms.

Ichthys, founded in 2024 and based in Dallas, pursues the aggregation and development of Permian Basin inventory, targeting operated and non-operated acquisitions and strategic partnerships across the Delaware and Midland basins. The company was formed in partnership with Post Oak, which provided an equity commitment to Ichthys in October 2024 and continues to back the business as it develops its existing assets and pursues further acquisitions in the basin.

“Ichthys’ monetization continues Post Oak’s strong track record of success and momentum in the Permian Basin,” said Ryan Walsh, managing director of Post Oak. “The Northern Delaware continues to be one of the most attractive regions for upstream capital investment in North America, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Ichthys as it pursues additional opportunities in the basin.”

TenOaks Energy Advisors served as financial advisor and Latham & Watkins served as legal advisor to Post Oak and Ichthys on the transaction.
