Philips Hue Accidentally Leaks Another TV Backlighting Accessory
Philips Hue has been known for pre-release product leaks, whether they happen accidentally or are intentional. This year is the same, as we have already come to know about its Camera Module intended to be unveiled at IFA 2026. Once again, the company is in the limelight for another product leak that hints a new Pro version of gradient lightstrip for TVs is being launched to expand its existing lineup.
The leak is based on the text discovered on the US Philips Hue official website by Hueblog. It announced, “Check out Philips Hue Play gradient strip lights and Play gradient strip light Pro.” As there is no Pro model of gradient strip available right now, you can expect it to be a new TV backlighting product launching soon.
Unfortunately, there are no further details about the product yet. For now, you can expect the latest Pro lightstrip to feature music-reactive lights, and to be installed on the back of the TV to reflect the colors from your screen onto the walls and ceiling. As it is a Pro version, it is obvious that Philips will include some extra features compared to the standard model. The biggest upgrade would surely be denser LED placement and better light diffusion, without visible LED dots.

The Philips Hue Play gradient lightstrip is pricey, but it would be great if the brand lowers the price of the latest release to battle against brands like Govee, which offers similar features at significantly lower prices. Another cool upgrade would be compatibility with large-size TVs. It will be interesting to see what new features are finally added to the light strip that make it more useful than predecessors.
