When Noah Kahan released his latest album The Great Divide earlier this year, he proved himself to be a true superstar. The singer-songwriter broke out several years back with his set Stick Season, which produced quite a few hits and helped shift the sound of top 40 radio toward a more acoustic, folk singer-songwriter vibe.
Kahan’s The Great Divide brought him to No. 1 on a handful of Billboard rosters for the first time, and months into its promotional run, the full-length remains one of the most popular titles in the United States. It is not just The Great Divide that continues to perform well, but nearly every song featured on its track list this week.
Multiple cuts from Kahan’s latest studio effort return to the same roster as he is able to fill many slots at once whenever competition is not too fierce.
Three Noah Kahan Songs Return to the Same Chart
Kahan scores three simultaneous comebacks on the Hot Rock Songs chart this week. “Haircut,” “Dan” and “Deny, Deny, Deny” reenter the ranking at Nos. 20, 22 and 24, respectively.
The Hot Rock Songs chart ranks the most popular rock-only tracks in the U.S. via a methodology that incorporates multiple forms of consumption. None of Kahan’s three returning cuts have reached the top 10, though all of them have spent months on the roster at this point – and each one missed the highest tier by only a few spaces.
Noah Kahan Fills 11 Spaces on One Billboard Chart
Kahan occupies an incredible 11 positions on the Hot Rock Songs chart this week, including his three returning favorites. “Orbiter” and “Willing and Able” remain his strongest performers on the list, and both are still top 10 smashes. Several other tracks from The Great Divide also continue to find space on the roster, including “Doors,” “End of August,” “Staying Still,” “American Cars,” “Dashboard” and “Downfall.”
Noah Kahan Scores Another Rock Chart Comeback
Another Kahan tune reenters a different, but related, Billboard list. “Paid Time Off” returns to the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart at No. 48 – third to last place – and that is the only ranking where the track can currently be found.
The Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally casts a wider net than the Hot Rock Songs chart, as it incorporates cuts classified under both rock and alternative labels, rather than focusing specifically on rock. “Paid Time Off” has performed much better on the roster in the past, as it rose to No. 12 and missed the top 10 by just two rungs.
Noah Kahan’s Tunes Reach New Peaks on Different Tallies
Two Kahan singles reach new highs on Billboard charts this week. “Doors” rises one space to No. 4 on the Alternative Airplay ranking, establishing another career best as radio promotion continues.
“Orbiter” simultaneously climbs to new peaks on three other tallies as well. The single reaches Nos. 6, 28 and 95 on the Alternative Streaming Songs, Streaming Songs and Billboard Global 200 charts, respectively.
