Latest Dolby Vision 2 Will Soon Come in Hisense TVs

The highly anticipated upgrade to Dolby’s high dynamic range (HDR) picture technology has finally arrived. When Dolby Vision 2 was first announced at IFA 2025, we learned that Hisense would be the first brand to feature this technology, while the better Max version would also be available on Philips’ high-end OLED TVs. Now, the wait is over as the company is releasing the first phase rollout of Dolby’s next-generation picture quality on select Hisense televisions. The company is also planning to roll out the technology to Hisense’s older TV models with firmware updates in the future, which is indeed a great step to retain customers. 

This upgraded display technology will look more “captivating and authentic”, which will be easily noticeable to existing users, according to the company. “With this update, the entertainment you love in Dolby Vision now looks even better, setting the stage for even more incredible experiences to come.”, said John Couling, Senior Vice President, Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories. 

The Dolby Vision 2 uses a new image engine and expanded metadata to automatically adjust contrast, brightness, and motion based on what you are watching and your room’s lighting. As for content support, it will work across both new and available Dolby Vision content. It uses a creative-driven Content Intelligence feature that automatically optimizes the TV’s picture for different types of content using metadata.

The most interesting is the Intensity Slider feature that allows you to control the depth and richness of the Dolby Vision 2 experience. Whether you are watching movies or live sports on your TV or playing games, you will be able to tailor the whole visual experience to meet particular needs.

In the case of Dolby Vision 2 Max, the display capabilities are enhanced even more with Authentic Motion that eliminates unwanted judder and Light Sense 2 that optimizes picture quality for any lighting environment. You can also precisely control the display quality using the Pro settings. Hisense’s UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 (U7 Pro in EU, MEA, CSA) are the first TVs to support this display technology. 

If you are looking to upgrade to Dolby Vision 2, Hisense’s 2026 UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 (U7 Pro in EU, MEA, CSA) televisions running Google TV or VIDAA OS will first receive the update. The display technology is slated to be available for consumers across North America, Europe, and APAC in upcoming weeks. There are also plans to add Dolby Vision 2 capabilities to CANAL+, iQIYI, and Peacock streaming platforms.
