Hunter Point Capital has appointed William Sonneborn as president and chief operating officer, and promoted Mike Arpey to vice chairman, the firm announced.
Sonneborn will work closely with HPC’s senior leadership team to advance the firm’s strategic and operational priorities. He brings more than three decades of experience in alternative investments, asset management and financial services, having held leadership positions at Generate Capital, International Finance Corporation, EIG and KKR, where he served on the nine-member management committee. Earlier in his career, he was president and chief operating officer of TCW Group and held roles at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong.
Arpey’s new role as vice chairman will allow him to spend more time with HPC’s limited partners and continue supporting the firm’s GP partners, according to the company.
HPC provides capital solutions and strategic support to alternative asset managers and has surpassed $10 billion in assets under management, according to the firm.
Sonneborn is “a proven leader whose deep operating background and strategic perspective will be invaluable as HPC continues to scale,” said Avshalom Kalichstein, HPC’s chief executive officer and co-founder.
