Hisense Launches AI-Powered Washer and Dryer to Compete With Samsung

Samsung is a leading player in the laundry segment, primarily highlighted by the Bespoke AI lineup that uses onboard AI to optimize water, detergent, and energy use. Hisense is looking to challenge that control with its latest 7i Series laundry collection. The company has come up with the KitchenFit washing machine and a matching tumble dryer, both featuring built-in AI features and voice control combined with a flush fit appearance that seamlessly blends into modern spaces.

The unique KitchenFit design has a shallower depth to maximize space in your kitchen. The appliance blends well with your existing cabinets for a modern built-in look. It features a touchscreen display and easy controls to make laundry much simpler. You can easily save and recall your most-used cycles. This washer offers a wide choice of 22 wash programs to match different needs of homeowners.

Some highlighting functions include Quick Wash Pro, which lets you wash a full load in 49 minutes or a half load in 30 minutes; QuickBoost reduces wash times if you are in a hurry; and the ECO Refresh feature releases a burst of hot steam to remove wrinkles and allergens from clothes. On top of that, the Anti Crease Function uses gentle steam and drum rotation to minimize wrinkles. There is even a Drum Clean feature that draws hot air through the drum to prevent moisture buildup for preventing mold and bacteria growth.

The washing machine uses AI Super Wash technology that analyses the size and weight of your load and selects the best program accordingly. As per the company, it reduces power consumption by 55-percent and water consumption by 21-percent. There is also an AI Laundry Agent that learns your habits and preferences to suggest the best settings for each load so you have to think less and do more. The Auto Dosing system adds more convenience by optimizing water and detergent based on the size of the load.

The user gets real-time updates, detergent alerts, and energy consumption notifications via the companion mobile app. You can also give voice commands to select washing programmes, organize laundry schedules, and adjust other settings as well.

Likewise, the KitchenFit tumble dryer has nearly the same feature set and can even be paired with the washing machine to work in synchronization. It automatically selects the correct drying programme for your current load. You can control both of the appliances from one screen, which is another useful feature.

As for AI-powered features, the tumble dryer comes with the AI Super Dry feature that selects the best dry settings for your load. You can also customize drying temperatures to suit different fabrics. This front-load clothes dryer comes with a Quick Dry feature that offers fast, efficient drying. The Quick 29’ dries 1kg of laundry in just 29 minutes, while Power Speed 59’ handles 4kg in 59 minutes, says Hisense.

The dryer also has a 3D Drying feature that moves warm air evenly around the drum to dry clothes thoroughly from every angle, despite the size. Other important features include Power Steam, Gentle Dry, Winter Guard, Allergy Care and a Self-Cleaning Condenser. Voice commands will also allow you to handle the drying function hands-free.

As noted by T3, the Hisense 7i Series is now available to buy at official retailers. The washing machine is priced at £999 ($1,344) on Currys while the tumble dryer costs £1,099 ($1,480) at AO.
