FCA US LLC has recalled 201,976 Jeep vehicles because a software issue may prevent the tire-pressure monitoring system from detecting low tire pressure or illuminating its warning light, raising the risk of a crash.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the defect affects certain vehicles. The recall notice says the software error may cause the system to fail to detect low tire pressure and/or fail to illuminate the warning light as intended.

The recall covers these models:
- 2026 Jeep Cherokee
- 2024–2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee
- 2024–2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
- 2024–2026 Jeep Cherokee L
- 2024–2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
- 2025–2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L
- 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L PHEV
- 2024–2025 Jeep Wagoneer
- 2025 Jeep Wagoneer L
The recall number is 54D. Depending on the failure mode, drivers may see a message to service the tire-pressure system, a malfunction indicator light or dashes in place of the placard values.
What Should Owners Do?
Owners should take their vehicles to a dealership to have the radio-frequency hub software updated at no charge. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent Sept. 29. FCA can be reached at 1-800-853-1403.

A separate recent recall involved more than 300,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees because of a rear coil-spring issue. No accidents or injuries had been reported in that recall.
