CapVest-backed Curium to take Lantheus private for $8bn

CapVest portfolio company Curium, a radiopharmaceutical developer and manufacturer, has announced its intention to take Lantheus Holdings private for approximately $8 billion and merge it with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Curium US.
Curium US will pay Lantheus $102.50 per share in cash at closing. Shareholders will also have rights to receive up to $12 per share if certain commercial milestones for Lantheus products are met by 2030.
Based out of Boston, Curium provides radiopharmaceuticals for cancer diagnostics and treatment from over 80 manufacturing sites worldwide and with a global footprint that extends to more than 70 countries. CapVest formed the company in France in 2017 and completed a recapitalization in 2025 that valued it at approximately $7 billion.
Headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts, Lantheus has is a developer and manufacturer of radiopharmaceuticals, precision diagnostics and targeted therapeutics. The company has been in operation for 70 years and also has offices in New Jersey, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Together, both entities will produce isotopes and manufacture diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapeutics. The transaction provides it with the infrastructure and capabilities to support patient care in over 70 countries.
The transaction is expected to be financed through debt and equity and to close in the first half of 2027.
