Dripper June Pour-Over Brewer Retains Heat Bloom to Drawdown
For many, coffee making is just another chore; something they do to get that early morning boost of energy. For me, it is a deeply personal ritual. I wake up every morning, brew a pot of coffee for myself, and savor it while watching over my garden. It is meditation. While my moka pot and French press work just fine for such slow mornings, I have always wanted a pour-over, but none clicked so far. Then came the Dripper June pour-over by Seattle-based coffee gear company Shelbru, and the yearning became too real.
The Dripper June reimagines the pour-over coffee ritual with thermal stability and extraction consistency. It flaunts a double-walled, vacuum-insulated brewing chamber with a ceramic-coated interior to help maintain thermal stability from the first pour to the final drop. While its excellent temperature control is an advantage, the brand’s complete Aroma System – which includes JUNE, Shelbru Smart Canister, Avensi Cyclone, and Avensi Alto for a complete pour-over experience – is what seals the deal for me.
On its own, June offers a thoughtful design and precise brew control from bloom to drawdown. Paired with other accessories in the Aroma System, it becomes a powerhouse that takes your pour-over to the next level. Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, with a rather successful campaign, you can reserve the June for $63, with 37% off its retail price. The complete Aroma System can be reserved at $137, with 42% off the MSRP of $235.

Before we discuss others in this system, let’s meet the star of the show: June. It has a sleek dual-wall vacuum body that prevents heat from escaping mid-brew. Its ceramic-coated interior keeps the coffee flavors intact without mixing any metallic taste, while the 12 internal ribs manage filter contact and airflow with brilliant precision.
The biggest aspect that sets June apart from its counterparts on the market is the temperature control. A variable most pour-overs often ignore, June’s double-wall vacuum structure accounts for it and builds a thermal barrier that doesn’t absorb heat from the brewing water. It maintains a more stable brewing environment from the bloom to the last drop.

Through testing, Shelbru discovered that June holds within roughly 1 to 2 degrees Celsius of its starting brew temperature over four minutes. On the other hand, this would drop far more aggressively with glass and metal drippers. I can definitely get behind this precision.
The 12 concave ribs inside the June are designed for more than just holding the filter. Yes, the ribs hold the paper filter flush against the dripper wall, reducing the gap for water to slip around the coffee. Additionally, each rib has recessed air channels between them to let pressure escape as water flows down. This helps maintain a steadier, more controlled coffee drawdown.

The Aroma Flow outlet at the base is designed to center and stabilize the coffee stream as it drips on a fixed point. This tiny little detail may not matter to people who would use a standard server with the June. For those pairing it with ICOSA’s Avensi Cyclone, this becomes a whole other thing.
The Shelbru x ICOSA Avensi Cyclone serves as that fixed point for June’s Aroma Flow outlet. The Cyclone is a borosilicate glass sensory carafe with a raised Aroma Peak at the center, inspired by high-end wine decanters. The coffee drips onto the peak, diffusing and magnifying aromatics into the air. Another accompanying component is the Avensi Alto tasting cup. It has an hourglass form and Aeration Waves geometry to intensify the aromatic intricacy of each sip.

Both these pieces are handmade from borosilicate glass and designed to stack cleanly for storage. Together, they enhance the serving and tasting portion of the pour-over ritual to the next level, something my ordinary mug won’t be able to do on its own.

The Aroma System even includes the Shelbru Smart Canister, a vacuum-sealed bean storage container with an automated pressure sensor. It monitors internal conditions and reboots vacuuming whenever pressure drops below -20 kPa. It may seem trivial, but the container keeps the beans in a stable, low-oxygen environment without any manual effort, further elevating your brewing experience.

If, like me, you wish to improve your pour-over experience, June might be a good start. The next-generation pour-over dripper improves brewing consistency through enhanced thermal control, adding flavor and aromatic depth to each brew. Now that is the perfect companion for a slow, meditating morning.
You can get the single dripper for $63, while the complete Aroma System can be reserved for $137. Delivery is expected in September 2026.
