Scandinavian Sierra Tiny House Fits Covered Porch, Fireplace, Sleeps Six

The tiny house industry is in limbo right now: Some are going too big; some are sticking to the basics. Some are getting too luxurious, while others strip all the bells and whistles and offer a rustic sanctuary. A case in point is the Scandinavian Sierra tiny house, which embraces a log-cabinesque aesthetic with a covered porch, fireplace in the living room, and sleeps six.

Built by Lancaster Log Cabins, the Scandinavian Sierra tiny house measures 12 feet wide and 34 feet long (43.8 feet long with the loft). The 10-foot covered porch extends the living space outdoors for an ideal lounging space. The black charred exterior helps the park model blend with the natural surroundings, while the split roof design helps regulate the interior height.

The porch comes with a railing, composite deck boards, and porch light. A 36-inch full-view out-swing glass door provides entry inside from the porch. You enter into the open floor living area and kitchen. The living room has a futon facing a wall-mounted television above an electric fireplace.

Adjacent is the U-shaped kitchen with modern appliances, including a four-burner cooktop, oven, range hood, over-the-range microwave, and a refrigerator. Plenty of counter space allows you to whip up gourmet meals for the family. Storage is aplenty with overhead and under-counter cabinets and drawers. One of the countertop sections, toward the living area, serves as a breakfast bar. If you wish, you can place a compact dining setup as well.

Past the kitchen is a hallway where the bunk beds are installed to sleep kids. Since there are no private walls to cordon off this area, you can invest in a divider or something to offer some semblance of privacy. There is some open shelving to keep toys and books. Opposite is the bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower cabin, a toilet, and a vanity sink.

At the end of the hallway is the primary bedroom of the Scandinavian Sierra tiny house. It comes with a queen-size bed but is big enough for a king-size bed as well. A separate mini-split regulates the temperature, while a large dresser sorts your essentials and a wall-mounted television can keep you entertained.

The low-ceiling loft bedroom spans the middle of the house and can fit two twin mattresses or a queen-size mattress to sleep two. It can also accommodate a couple of dressers.

The Scandinavian Sierra tiny house is priced at $109,900, which seems like a relatively bargain when compared to modern micro-dwellings that go for over $200K. Given its traditional log cabin aesthetic, the Scandinavian Sierra is truly a gem that can be home to a growing family.
