Ever seen furniture that looks like it is moving down from your wall in slow motion? Say hello to the Conchiolin Series by Phil Berczuk Design, featuring a console table and two floating shelves. It kicks boring furniture to the curb and replaces it with sleek, smooth-curved objects. Inspired by the protective architecture of black saddle oyster shells, the Conchiolin Series explores the ideas of growth and transformation.
“The designs play with the layered, flowing form of the shells to create a stylized and visually engaging interaction between their delicately balanced components,” Berczuk told Homecrux.
Phil Berczuk is a London-based designer; his practice sits at the intersection of natural elements and constructed things. By turning organic forms and raw materials into sculptural furniture, he brings a sense of motion to static objects; the idea behind the Conchiolin Series.
The console table is made from cold-formed micro-laminated fumed oak. Instead of looking like separate pieces, its two asymmetrical components flow together into a single, continuous sculptural form. The layered section and underside reveal the laminated oak, referencing the stacked lamination of the shells. The table measures 30 inches high, 59 inches wide, and 10 inches deep.
Moving from floor to wall, the collection offers two Conchiolin Shelves. Both are developed intentionally as wall-mounted variants of the console table, but the change in their dimension and position gives them their own character.
While describing the shelves, Berczuk explains that Conchiolin Shelf #1 forwards the console table’s language of layered growth and transformation but shifts the focus from outer surface to inner structure. The raised mounting height brings the sculpted underside and layered micro-lamination clearly into view. It measures 20 inches high, 56 inches wide, and 8 inches deep.

Meanwhile, Conchiolin Shelf #2 evolves from the same process as its companion, but takes a more symmetrical approach. Its two extended horizontal planes are separated from the wall, giving the piece a practical shelving function while keeping its sculptural appearance. It measures 17 inches high, 51 inches wide, and 8 inches deep.
The Conchiolin Series is handcrafted from cold-formed micro-laminated fumed oak and finished with a premium wood oil, bringing a stunning, lasting shine. This series is being prominently displayed during Shoreditch Design Week, 2026.
