Even as the average prices for appliances rise, consumers are more satisfied with their purchases, according to J.D. Power’s 2026 Appliance Satisfaction Study.
Overall, customer satisfaction with appliances is up 6 points from the prior year to 705 on a 1,000-point scale. In fact, customers are more satisfied with appliance durability and the purchasing process, according to J.D. Power.
In a summary of the study findings, Michael Taylor, senior managing director of retail intelligence practice at J.D. Power, says:
“Retailers have made meaningful gains in product availability and execution, helping customers find the appliances they want and delivering appliances with fewer issues. Combined with increased satisfaction with appliance durability, these improvements are driving stronger confidence and satisfaction throughout the ownership experience.”
The 2026 study evaluated customer satisfaction with 11 types of major appliances for the laundry room and kitchen as well as retailers that sell such appliances.
The rankings are based on more than 28,400 evaluations from people who had purchased home appliances in the prior year.
