Keeping this in mind, Paris-based lighting brand Forestier has designed the Solis pendant lamp collection.
Solis is a Latin word that means ‘of the Sun.’ Inspired by it, German designer Jette Scheib designed the Solis collection, which is both functional and decorative. It resembles a seed, fruit, or a flower, and its unique geometric frame may shift subtly with every perspective. “The Solis collection is my personal homage to the sun,” Scheib told Homecrux.
The collection is handcrafted from woven raphia stretched across a rigid metallic frame, ensuring the light passing through the weave gives a soft, warm glow. Sleek black metallic edging outlines each organic silhouette, giving a unique dynamic effect.
The Solis pendant lamp collection features three types: S-natural, M-natural, and XL-natural. The materials are the same; the only difference is the size, shape, and length of the lamp. Solis-S natural resembles more like a small flower with 16 inches diameter and hangs down 18 inches from the ceiling.

M-natural may seem like a budding flower or may be a seed to many. It has an oval shape with 16 inches diameter and hangs down 32 inches from the ceiling. XL natural mirrors a pumpkin, bigger in size, and hangs down 34 inches from the ceiling.
You can install the Solis collection above a dining table, living room, or bedroom to your liking. It will still bring a feeling of softness and comfort, while highlighting the beauty of natural materials. The collection was showcased at Maison&Objet in January 2026 and is also slated to make an appearance at the Fall Edition, as the designer tells us.
