Astorg completes buyout of Thermo Fisher’s microbiology business

Astorg has completed its previously announced acquisition of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc’s microbiology business.
Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, Thermo Fisher is a life science and clinical research company.
The microbiology business is a provider of diagnostic consumables and equipment used in microbiological testing across clinical, food safety, and pharmaceutical applications.
The business will now operate as an independent company under the leadership of CEO Dirk Bontridder and launch under a new corporate brand later in 2026.
The business serves more than 15,000 customers across over 100 countries and employs approximately 2,400 employees across 13 manufacturing and R&D sites around the world.
