LG xboom Blast Leverages AI to Optimize its Audio Quality
LG has finally announced the global launch of its xboom Blast portable speaker, which was first introduced ahead of CES 2026. Created in collaboration with will.i.am of the American musical group Black Eyed Peas, the speaker created a lot of buzz for including AI features in a portable form factor. It offers 220 watts of output, up to 36 hours of battery life, and IP68-rated protection, making it a worthy party speaker for outdoor use.
When it comes to portable speakers, the first thing that most people look for is ruggedness. The xboom Blast features a durable fabric exterior and protective side bumpers that help it survive any kind of outdoor conditions. LG has not only added IP68-rated protection to withstand dust and water but also verified the build through seven military-grade durability tests to meet the rugged demands of outdoor use.
For easy transport, it comes with a top handle and flexible rope handle. You can place it vertically or horizontally as per needs. We personally think the vertical position will be great for beaches, as less surface area will be exposed to the sand in this position. That means less time cleaning the speaker when the party’s over.
Next up, people want a powerful battery, which is invariably present in the new speaker. The LG xboom Blast features a replaceable 99-watt-hour battery and Play Time Enhance technology that provide up to 36 hours of audio playback on a single charge. It will ensure the music lasts as long as your party goes on.
As for the audio quality, LG ensures a truly unique experience as LG xboom Blast’s signature sound is tuned by will.i.am. Each unit combines two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers with two 20-millimeter tweeters from Danish audio brand Peerless to produce deep bass, crisp highs and balanced full-range audio. It allows you to stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth or connect through USB-C for high-fidelity wired playback.
The xboom Blast portable speaker can deliver up to 220 watts of output when connected to AC power and up to 210 watts in battery mode. It is sufficient to fill large spaces with rich, immersive sound designed for parties and gatherings. If you need more audio volume for larger gatherings, you can also use the Auracast feature to pair multiple compatible speakers wirelessly.
There are also built-in AI features to automatically optimize the audio quality, depending on the varying outdoor environments. The AI Sound feature analyzes music and other audio content in real time and automatically adjusts sound settings to optimize playback, while Space Calibration Pro automatically adapts sound output based on the surrounding environment.
Then comes the Sound Field Enhance feature that expands the perceived soundstage for more immersive listening. Lastly, the speaker is equipped with an AI Lighting function that synchronizes the music with the speaker’s Dual Ring Lighting effects to create a party vibe.
LG has intended the xboom Blast to be used for beach days, camping trips, poolside gatherings, or backyard celebrations. There are no details about the pricing yet, but it will begin rolling out in select markets this month, with additional markets to follow later this year.
