New Narwal Freo 20 With Self-Cleaning Mop Never Drags Dirty Pad
Despite the ongoing reports of robot bans in the USA, Narwal has expanded its Freo Series with the new Freo 20 model featuring the signature FlowWash Mopping System, which specializes in preventing cross-contamination in the space. Touted to have the world’s first flattened roller mop, this floor-cleaning robot offers 31,000 Pa suction and a seven times larger surface contact area for faster mopping. The brand is presenting it as a great solution to tackle wet spills at home.
At the core of Freo 20 is Narwal’s flattened roller featuring a conveyor belt-style loop design that scrubs floors with 12 Newtons of downward pressure for cleaning similar to manual hand-mopping. It also offers a real-time self-cleaning feature that sprays 140 degrees Fahrenheit fresh water via 16 nozzles for thorough cleaning, while a built-in scraper and high-pressure air pump suck residual dirt. Since the mop pads are always clean, there is no chance it will drag a dirty pad across the room, which is a serious issue in the robot vacuum and mop segment.
Featuring a combination of NarMind Pro Autonomous System and TwinAI Dodge technology, the robot is claimed to identify and maneuver around over 300 household objects. There are dual onboard RGB cameras to detect and avoid obstacles as thin as 0.2 in with millimeter-level accuracy.
It also includes family-first features, including a Pet Care Mode that dynamically adjusts cleaning around pet zones and offers interactive video monitoring. A Baby Care Mode, on the other hand, recognizes cribs and toys to trigger low-noise cleaning.
Narwal has also updated the dock with a fabric-inspired design that easily blends into modern homes and allows for hands-off operation. It uses a four-stage cleaning process that washes internal fluid pathways with high water temperature up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The station also blows 140 degrees Fahrenheit hot air on the flattened roller mop to dry it and prevent moisture buildup.

As for vacuuming, the dock has a quiet auto-emptying system that pulls debris from the robot into an onboard 2.4-liter dust bag, which you need to replace once every 120 days. Furthermore, it uses an SGS-certified DualFlow Tangle-Free System to prevent hair tangles, and EdgeReach Technology to clean hard-to-reach corners and edges.
According to the press release, the Narwal Freo 20 will be officially available in the U.S. on August 20, 2026, through the official website and on Amazon. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how the brand gets FCC clearance for these robot vacuum cleaners despite the robot ban.
