Apheon-backed Haudecoeur acquires Natur Food and Heliadis in European push
- Natur Food gives Haudecoeur its first foothold in Germany’s Turkish food wholesale market
- Heliadis brings the Nawhal’s sauce brand and expands the group into foodservice channels
- Combined, the three companies generate more than €350 million in turnover
Haudecoeur, backed by Apheon, LFPI and the founding Haudecoeur family, has closed the acquisitions of Natur Food, a German wholesaler of Turkish food products, and Heliadis, a Belgian food product manufacturer.
The deals mark Haudecoeur’s first international expansion, adding Germany and Belgium to its existing French footprint.
Together, the acquisitions generate a combined turnover of more than €350 million, according to the company.
Natur Food, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Giessen, distributes products under its own Ahinur brand alongside third-party brands to retailers across Germany, giving Haudecoeur access to the country’s Turkish community for the first time. Heliadis, founded in 2005 and based in Vilvoorde, distributes its Nawhal’s-branded sauces to foodservice operators across France through a network of wholesalers.
“These two complementary acquisitions perfectly illustrate the buy-and-build strategy we are pursuing with Haudecoeur and the founding family,” said Wolfgang de Limburg, managing partner at Apheon, in a statement.
Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
