Jim Cramer sees opportunity to snap up more shares of this chipmaker

Stocks fell sharply Wednesday as oil prices surged on renewed Iran war worries ahead of the Federal Reserve’s post-meeting interest rate decision at 2 p.m. ET. The CME FedWatch tool puts about 64% odds on no change in rates and roughly 36% odds on a hike. The spike in oil certainly adds to the case for a rate hike, but any resolution in the Mideast conflict could bring energy prices right back down. Jim Cramer said the market is being driven by sentiment versus earnings, pointing to Club holdings Capital One and Boeing as examples of stocks that are getting hurt on this trend. The sentiment changed on Boeing because of oil, Jim said. After selling some Procter & Gamble on Tuesday, we exited the rest of our position following a disappointing quarter. 2. Meta Platforms and Microsoft report earnings after the closing bell against a tough backdrop for tech as investors demand viability toward monetization of all the companies’ AI spending. The Nasdaq on Wednesday was riding a six-session losing streak. The big question: Will the Club names follow Alphabet ‘s lead last week and raise their capital expenditure (capex) plans? “If you’re a bull, you just don’t want more capex because it’s going to mean that you’re going to have to try to find money for it,” Jim said. Also on our after-the-bell earnings schedule is Starbucks . We booked some profits Friday to protect hard-fought 2026 gains, but Jim is still a fan of CEO Brian Niccol’s turnaround efforts. 3. Intel dropped over 4.5%, trading under $83 per share. Since reporting earnings last Thursday evening, the chipmaker has seen a significant decline. As the stock nears $80, Jim sees it as a chance to snag more shares at an even better price. “We have to buy some because that’s a really wide scale from where it was last [ bought on Monday ],” he said. Jim is fond of Intel given the intensifying demand for the company’s central processing units (CPUs), manufacturing operations, and chip packaging business. 4.
