TJ Maxx Is Selling the Perfect Nancy Meyers Storage Ottoman

Don’t get it twisted: Nancy Meyers’ iconic interiors are collected. Textiles abound, as do vintage brass table lamps and stacks of books, but messy? They are not.

It’s a fine line. Fortunately, I did just find a solution-of-a storage ottoman from TJ Maxx that could have been plucked straight from the ‘grandma chic’ Hamptons home in Something’s Gotta Give (2003), offering a spot to disguise the less-than-cinematic necessities we all own beneath a veil of antique-inspired florals.

But the most interesting part is actually where I found it: TJ Maxx, a retailer I’ve since learned – after interviewing interior designers on the topic back in February – they secretly keep in regular rotation.

I can’t be the only one imagining TJ’s skirted ottoman at the foot of the armchair in this Susie Watson-designed, but very Nancy Meyers-inspired, living room.

If you’ve ever wandered the aisles, you know TJ Maxx is the ultimate treasure hunt. Its ever-changing inventory is packed with big-name brands, and chances are, you’ll never come across the same gem twice.
